Eixample, Valencia’s expansion district, through Russafa: once a Moorish suburb whose name comes from the Arabic rusafa, garden or orchard, and an independent town until it was annexed in 1877. Its traditional markets, galleries, vintage shops, specialty coffee and terraces make it the city’s creative quarter, still proud of its own identity.
